In this episode, I speak with Danny Davis who’s the director of his own innovation and digital strategy consultancy.
Danny is also the chair of Link Community Transport - a non-profit established to overcome transport disadvantage - at a time when the sector is undergoing a huge amount of change in their funding models and revenue streams.
It’s fascinating to hear Danny speak about the role of the board in setting strategy and the need to reinvent themselves in times of rapid change.
Danny commenced his governance journey over 20 years ago as the founder of a technology company, where with the help of an advisory board he grew the business into $20 million dollar venture.
The experience of forming a new board with a mix of investors and independent directors taught him the importance of allowing each individual director to make a valuable contribution.
In his board and consulting roles Danny enquires about whether everyone is putting time and attention on asking the right questions.
Questions such as “Are we appropriately invested in our own future?” and “Do we have the right portfolio of activities to get us there?”
If you’re on a board during changing times or could benefit from asking the right questions, then this is an episode you won’t want to miss.
